The Annexe is a community-led charity to improve health and wellbeing of the Partick community, by fostering social connections and bridging gaps in the government’s support system for vulnerable people in the community.

Current Projects
Annexe Cafe
Annexe Cafe serves fresh, healthy, and affordable food, open to all, with a three-course lunch deal for vulnerable residents, using surplus supermarket food, and hosts celebratory meals throughout the year.
Participatory Budgeting Initiative
Partick and Thornwood Ideas Fund is a Scottish Government-funded Participatory Budgeting initiative allowing residents to decide on community spending through grants, overseen by Annexe Communities' steering group.
Social Prescribing Project
Social Prescribing project offers personalized pathways for improving health and wellbeing through one-to-one sessions, social interactions at the cafe, and diverse group activities, ideal for enhancing health and increasing social interaction.
Younity Project
Younity Project, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, aims to connect Partick's local organizations and individuals, sharing resources, knowledge, space, expertise, training, and volunteering opportunities for mutual benefit.

Attracting More Youths to The Annexe
The stereotype of The Annexe as a space mainly for the elderly and those with long-term health issues deters younger people from participating in its diverse activities and projects.
Unwareness of Local Murals and Art Pieces
The limited awareness about The Annexe's local murals and art pieces reduces public interest and engagement.

This section showcases the solutions to the challenges faced by The Annexe.
Geocaching
We propose implementing Geocaching, a public treasure hunt! We will use the Geocaching app to guide geocachers to The Annexe building. As geocachers reach The Annexe, they will discover a Geocache box, which serves as the hidden treasure. Inside the box, they will find meaningful items from the Annexe.
- Enabling The Annexe to attract young people through Geocaching.
- Providing young people with insights into the stories behind the art pieces and The Annexe presented in the Geocache box.
- Introducing The Annexe to young people and motivating them to participate in the community.
Plaque + Audio
We plan to incorporate plaques with short descriptions of the murals. To learn more about the mural, all they need to do is scan the QR code on the plaque, and they will be able to listen to a one-minute audio recording revealing the captivating story behind the mural.

Through gamification and leveraging technology, Geocaching encourages young people to step out of their comfort zones, explore their surroundings, and learn the stories behind nearby murals and art pieces.
Seeing our client, the Dreams and Aspirations group at The Annexe, embracing and committing to sustain these proposed solutions fills us with immense joy and pride.
