Designing an interactive solution to spread awareness about the works of Alexander Thomson.
Over the past few weeks, our team has embarked on a journey to develop a website with a focus on interactive thinking and usability testing. This experience has been both challenging and rewarding as we navigated through various stages of the project, including ideation, design, and testing. During brainstorming sessions, we noticed how diverse perspectives enriched the ideas, leading to creative and innovative solutions. The open exchange of thoughts and interactive discussions fostered a collaborative spirit, enabling us to overcome complex challenges more effectively. We were not afraid to propose unconventional ideas, knowing that they would be met with constructive feedback and evaluation. This freedom resulted in several breakthrough moments that significantly improved the project's overall direction. Ultimately, our team's collaboration was one of our greatest strengths. We embraced the diversity of skills and perspectives, understanding that each team member brought a unique set of talents to the table. Encouraging a culture of respect and openness allowed everyone to feel comfortable sharing their ideas and concerns, fostering a sense of trust and camaraderie within the team. Moving forward, we intend to build upon these learnings, improving our collaborative process while maintaining a strong focus on delivering products that meet and exceed user expectations. As a team, we are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to implementing our newfound knowledge in future projects.

Our intuitive user interface streamlines comparing savings products across various banks, fostering financial literacy and providing a seamless journey towards optimizing their savings and future financial security.
A good design is an all-encompassing iterative cycle.
The Design Project module has enabled me to experience interacting with industry partners to develop a solution prototype
I learned the importance of user-centric design, market research, and leveraging expert insights to optimize application usability.
Different views from others about the design and how to integrate the view to make a better product.
Did the prototyping for mobile version of the web application.
I helped with the research and design of the project, and with the development of the team’s website.
Team 8A: Bridging the Digital Divide
This project aims to innovate a tool that enhances
engagement between 'Zoomies' and 'Roomies' in hybrid
learning spaces. By creatively merging features of
existing tools, our solution promotes interactive
collaboration, ensuring both virtual and physical
participants feel engaged and heard. It addresses issues
such as participation visibility, idea sharing, and
seamless coordination between the two groups. The
ultimate goal is to foster an engaging, inclusive hybrid
learning environment.
We learned that constraints can foster creativity and
encourage new ideas. Shifting focus from individuals to
ideas allowed us to explore diverse solutions.
Iterations were crucial in creating user-centered
designs. Crafting problem statements, learning from
mistakes, and visual communication led to successful
innovation. Hands-on prototyping proved more valuable
than theoretical discussions.
Be less curious about people and more curious
about ideas.
I learnt the importance of the iterations in
design thinking process to create user-centered
solutions.
I mastered crafting problem statements, learning
from my mistakes, and finally executing a
successful innovative design.
I learnt the importance of communicating ideas
visually instead to verbally to ensure the
message is better received.
I learned that more hands-on prototyping is more
beneficial than to theorize.
Even though it's tough, constraint can push us
to think differently and come up with new ideas.

Team 8B: THE GOLDEN COMBINATION TO RUN EFFECTIVE HYBRID CLASSES
Having recently delivered hybrid training sessions, how
can we best keep zoomies (virtual participants) and
roomies (in-person participants) engaged and interactive
during the session? How can we get them working together
on tasks and activities? We experimented on current
tools and unified all of the most effective features
together, and it was proved to boost engagement and
interaction amongst participants. Check out our website
today to view the new standard for hybrid training
sessions!
Through challenges and triumphs, we have navigated the
complex world of hybrid learning; striving not for
perfection, but for progress. Together, we innovate for
a future where 'Roomies' and 'Zoomies' thrive as one.
In design and innovation, you can learn to
embrace creativity, adaptability, and
user-centricity, driving transformative
solutions and meaningful experiences.
Ideation allowed me to explore a multitude of
creative possibilities and generate innovative
solutions for our design project.
Learnt the process of identifying, pinpointing,
and understanding the needs of the user or
target audience.
Ideating phase is one of the most important
stage as we have to consider the multiple
constrains to find out the most suitable
solution for the scenario.
Developed a deep understanding of design
thinking by exploring ideation, fostering
creativity, and driving innovative solutions in
the design process.
Design is about creating and delivering values.

Team 9A: Designing computing science activities using Curio platform
A quiz system using Curio robots allowing students to engage in an interactive learning experience regarding computing science. In a team of 3 students and a Curio robot, 2 teams compete in a battle activity. The 2 robots start at opposite ends of the playing area. Correct answers make the robot move towards the goal, while incorrect answers make it move backward. The team whose robot crosses the middle line or goes further from the starting point is the victor.
Developed a hands-on quiz battle system using the Curio platform for pre-university students to learn more and test their knowledge regarding computing science.
Found the use of different ideation processes interesting to go through as I’m more used to coming up with the final product from the start, and Curio development.
Learned effective design thinking and developing a hands-on quiz battle system using Curio.
Learned how to come up with interesting ideas using various prototyping techniques to solve Curio-related challenges.
Learned the importance of asking clients good questions in order to bridge the gap between mental models and what is actually required using Curio.
Learned how to see from the client's perspective in order to create an appropriate product by developing on Curio platform.
Learned the importance of establishing a common mental model within the team before tackling the problem at hand using Curio.

Team 9B: CurioDraw: Unleashing Creativity with Curio and Robots
To create a unique educational experience, we strive to design a dynamic and captivating activity . Harnessing the Curio platform, an innovative web-based education tool, alongside with the robots, we aim to boost student engagement. Leveraging the robot's capability, we aim to spark the students’ creativity and problem-solving skills through interactive, hands-on approach. The incorporation of robots and Curio platform will allow students to collaborate and share their knowledge while fostering a fun and enjoyable learning experience.

I learnt that design thinking and prototypes are not just figma and wireframes. Constraints are very helpful at the initial planning stage and let designer know clearly what can't be done, so they can focus solely on what can be done with all remaining possibilities, to achieve what users want (but not know yet)
I learnt that for a design process to be successful, a lot of communication needs to be done daily so that the mental model of the stakeholder and team members are always aligned.
Prototype help to create a visualisation of a product to identify flaws. Creating new models or selecting the right models is the key to a successful product.
I learned the importance of communication between not only with the customers, but also with your teammates for every meetings conducted.
I learnt how to determine the most valued components of the prototypes to build a new prototype to meet the customers’ requirements.
I learnt through the mental model to make sure that the customers idea is align to ours to draft out a prototype which meets their needs.
